Overview

Description

  • Long, thin slices of this mushroom are delicious additions to stir-fry dishes. Because of their long growing period, they become very large and have a darker, richer flavor than other mushrooms. Fresh portabella caps can be grilled and used as a veggie burger or topped with sauce and cheese for a crust-less pizza.

Quick Usage Ideas

  • Dried mushrooms have a more concentrated flavor than fresh. Always soak dried mushrooms in VERY hot water for 20 minutes or until soft before using. Do not use before rehydrating. Use in stuffings and casseroles with fish, meats, poultry and vegetables, as well as grilled, sautéed and stir-fried.

Healthy Highlight

  • Both fresh and dried mushrooms contain unique compounds that are believed to boost your immune defense.

Selection & Storage

  • Store dried mushrooms in a cool, dry area in an airtight container up to 6 months.
