Glazed Shallots and Apples


3 large tart apples, cored and thinly sliced
2 tablespoons butter or margarine
2 tablespoons claret or port wine
1 3-ounce package Frieda’s Shallots, peeled and thinly sliced
2 tablespoons honey


In a large skillet, sauté apple slices in butter or margarine over low heat for about 5 minutes or until nearly tender. Add claret or port wine, sliced shallots, and honey. Cook over medium heat, stirring frequently, about 10 minutes or until shallots and apples are browned. Season with salt if desired; serve. Very good as an elegant side dish with roast chicken or beef.
