Perfectly Puffy Pinwheel Snacks
Pasta Para Duritos are a traditional wheat-based Mexican snack that look like dried pasta, but puff up when fried or microwaved with a light, airy consistency like fried pork skin.
Here are two simple ways to get that crunchy, puffy snack you’re craving:
Simply place Pasta Para Duritos on a microwave-safe plate and cook on high for 30 seconds until they puff up. Remove and sprinkle with chile-lime powder or fresh lime juice and a dusting of chile powder and/or salt and other seasonings. Can also be enjoyed with salsa or cinnamon and sugar.
fry in oil
In medium cast-iron or heavy pan, heat vegetable oil until hot. Carefully drop in Pasta Para Duritos and fry until they puff up. Remove Duritos and place on paper-towel lined plate to drain. Season immediately while still warm (with chile-lime, garlic salt, or cinnamon-sugar).
