Ingredients

  • 3 avocados, peeled, seeded, and mashed (preferably fresh California Avocados)

  • 2 or 3 Red Fresno Chiles, seeded and chopped*

  • 3 Anaheim Chiles, seeded and chopped*

  • 1/3 cup onion, minced

  • 1/4 cup lemon juice

  • Salt to taste

  • Cayenne (ground red pepper) to taste

Cooking Steps

    Combine all ingredients until well blended. Let stand, covered, for at least 1 hour so flavors can blend. Serve with tortilla strips, jicama sticks, celery, carrot sticks, or crackers.

    * Use caution when handling chiles! Wear gloves and wash hands thoroughly with soapy water after handling. Keep fingers away from face, eyes, and lips while using chiles.
